1. Purpose of this Policy
The Shit Runners Club (SRC) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for everyone who takes part in our activities. Safeguarding is about protecting people from harm, abuse, neglect or exploitation, and ensuring everyone feels respected, listened to and safe.
This policy sets out how SRC approaches safeguarding and what to do if a concern arises.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All SRC members
- Volunteers
- Run leaders
- Organisers
- Anyone involved in SRC activities or representing the club
It covers safeguarding for:
- Adults at risk
- Children and young people (under 18), where applicable
3. Our Safeguarding Principles
SRC is guided by the following principles:
- Everyone has the right to feel safe and supported
- We take all safeguarding concerns seriously
- We act promptly and proportionately
- We respect confidentiality but will share information where necessary to protect someone from harm
- We promote an environment of kindness, inclusion and non-judgement
